Cultural and Historical Safari 10 days Day One:
Pick up from the airport and transfer to either Hotel Africana or Hotel International Muyenga

Day Two:
You'll begin your journey from Kampala to the west of Uganda. The route travels through breathtaking scenery and delightful rolling tea plantations, arriving at Fort Portal in the evening. Overnight either Ndali Lodge or CVK or Rwenzori View Guest House

Day Three:
Kibale Forest National Park with its families of habituated Chimpanzees - is home to an astonishing 12 species of primate and provides one the highest primates densities in the world. Later you will have the opportunity of a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp, which is home to approx. 137 bird species and an abundance of butterflies. It's also rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, polita figs and papyrus. Overnight at either Ndali Lodge, Rwenzori View Guest House or Tooro Resort.

Day Four:
Visit the Kings Royal Tombs and various cultural groups that will entertain you with music, dancing and story telling. Overnight as above.

Day Five:
You are on your way to Semliki valley, known as the "Garden Eden". You will stop for a tour on a local farm and then take a picnic lunch at the hot water springs. Spend the evening on a forest walk in the tropical rain forest of Semliki Wildlife Valley Reserve. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge or camping.

Day Six:
A day of real discovery: visit a local community in the foothills of the Rwenzoris, a local witch doctor and enjoy entertainment provided by the Bakonjo and Batoro (if avail) before visiting a local women's group. Overnight as above

Day Seven:
Today you will go on a morning game drive and later depart for Kampala. Overnight at Hotel Africana or Hotel International

Day Eight:
Drive to Jinja with a stop over at the Biblical site (Namugongo Martyrs shrine), Ssezibwa Falls and if possible also at Mabira Forest for those who love bird watching. Explore the Source of the Nile and drive on to the spectacular Bujagali Falls, see how rafters safely conquer the most challenging rapids, watch the fishermen and the fantastic bird life. We may later go on a brief tour around Jinja town to have a look at the old beautiful colonial buildings and the market. Overnight as above

Day Nine:
A unique journey into the history of Uganda: drive through the capital city Kampala, to Nakawuka, a small village in Mpigi District. You will meet local people and experience a rich, authentic culture, learn about the forgotten times and come face to face with traditions. After lunch continue to another village to see a different lifestyle of the Ugandan community. You may also be able to tour the Katereke Prison, which tells the story of a violent amd brutal episode in the Buganda history and many others. Overnight as above

Day 10:
Go and visit Kasubi Tombs, the King's Palace, the Museum etc. before transfer to the airport to catch your flight home.
