Rumanyika, Ibanda, Burigi, Biharamulo and Moyowosi Size: Altogether, these protected reserves encompass an area of approximately 14,500 km².
Location: North-west of Tanzania.

These five protected areas belong to the Kagera Kigoma Game Reserves Rehabilitation Project (KKGRRP).
These regions were not opened up to the public until recently and are may not be suitable for photo safaris due to the vast ruggedness. The landscapes are very versatile: Humid areas in the southern Moyowosi and along the Kagera River to acacia savannas. Mainly miombo forests and dry montane forests grow in the north. The very rare shoebill bird can be found in the Moyowosi Game Reserve, as well as Sitatunga, Sable and Roan antelope which live in these areas. Elephants migrate between Burigi and Moyowosi.
