Kilimandscharo National Park Size: 755 km²
Location: about 128 km from Arusha or about one hour's drive from Kilimanjaro Airport. It's only a few kilometers to the park boarder from Marangu Hotel, situated on the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro (Elevation: 19,335 ft), is the highest detached vulcano on earth with its three summits Shira (3,962 m), Kibo (5,895 m) and Mawenzi (5,149 m). Certainly a dominating attraction. Different trekking tours are offered to the summit, and tours vary from 5 to 8 days, depending on the chosen route and your personal physical condition. In a matter of a few days you will traverse through several different climatic zones: vegetation varies, starting at the low mountain slopes with undulating grass hillsides to tropical rain forests, moorland, desert and arctic climates on the summit of Kibo where you will ultimately experience its glaciers.
Different kinds of animals, like: elephant, giraffe, antelope as well as lion and leopard live on the slopes of the mountain forest; and the rare, black and white colobus monkeys make Mount Kilimanjaro their special home. Back to overview
