Map of Uganda
an unusual destination
Uganda, the „pearl of Africa“
While many visitors come to see the mountain gorillas, the country’s other natural attractions are just as rewarding: tropical rain forests with the highest number of primates in Africa, more than 1000 species of birds, spectacular waterfalls, open savannah and snow-covered mountain peaks in 10 National Parks and 7 wildlife sanctuaries, a paradise for hikers.
Uganda that is an unbelievable world of rare plants and animals, adventure combined with the luxury of civilisation: first class cuisine, first class lodges and hotels and very friendly people. Uganda boasts to be the friendliest and one of the safest countries in Africa.
The modern airport of Entebbe, stretched along the green shores of Lake Victoria is served by many International Airlines.
Kampala is a modern capital, open and friendly, built just like Rome on seven hills, and offers busy shopping centres, bustling markets, world class hotels and restaurants, coffee shops, banks, cinemas. And is an ideal basis for day trips to the cataracts of the Nile, fishing on Lake Victoria, bird and monkey watching in Mpanga Forest and Ngamba Chimp Island.
Since President Museveni took over in 1986 Uganda’s economy is one of the fastest growing in Africa. Infrastructure has been improved enormously and thanks to a wise environmental management 6 new National Parks could be established and ecological tourism be supported. Ugandas’ hotels and lodges belong to the world top.
